About a year ago I was granted a dream.  Who knew that a cleaning appliance could be a dream?!?  Well, in my case it really was.  We had been so kindly been given a vacuum when we got married but between then and getting into our house it didn't like to work as well, I blame our carpet... it molts, not attractive, just saying (it's on our list to replace...).   But on that day that my one and only Dyson arrived and for everyday for almost a month I vacuumed.  I was in awe of the fact that carpet was clean... actually clean!  I have issues I know, I wipe it down with a damp cloth... kind of feel like Monica, less the little vacuum.

Almost a year later... still in love.  If you can get a good deal(woot): so worth it!

If only I could twitch my nose...

I love people.  I mean I really do love people.  I guess it is good that I married a man who loves people too.

As much as I love people... not always a fan on the clean up.  When you invite 2 people over no biggie... 20 plus... ehhh, bit different.  Last night was one of my husband's closest friend's 30th birthday party, we hosted.  It was great, lots of activity outside and inside, food was everywhere... people had a blast... and it showed... all over my house.

I don't do well with a dirty messy house... I don't function well, I keep thinking of that when I am supposed to think of... well whatever it is I am doing.

So when I woke up this is what I found... and this is after my husband and I cleaned up a bit last night...

To get the whole  house spic and span (including scrubbing the kitchen floors on my hands and cleaning the bathroom) total of 1 hour and about 15 minutes or so.  My method: I start in one area, specifically the kitchen I work on the dishes first and all things that are quick focused.  During the process I always come across things that are out of place I put them on hold till I have a few items going to the same location, say the bedroom, and then I go back and put them away and take care of anything that needs to be done there, like making the bed (if it already isn't) and the process continues till I am done.  Washing the floor is one of the last things I do so that I don't walk across it when I inevitability find something that I missed.

This is the system I have found to be most successful in getting things done in the least amount of time.  I am sure that it is not the best system for a great deal many reasons but for now it is the one I use.

Passion for clean dishes

I am the youngest of 5 kids.  That leads to a busy and full house as a child.  My mom managed her household duties by using the important method of delegation.  Unlike a lot of delegation methods I have seen my mom chose one chore for each kid and it didn't change but possibly once a year.  My chore (I started my apprenticeship at 6) was dishes.  You would think after so many years of washing them that I would hate dishes. . .well to a degree I do.  I hate dirty dishes.  I hate hate hate dirty dishes.  As I said before, to you or at least someone else, I prefer to hand wash dishes.  Then I can clean and put away dishes one at a time so that it never builds up either dirty or clean.  I hate a pile of dirty dishes!  I hate a pile of clean dishes!  I don't like piles of any kind really.  My goal with all cleaning is to leave you pile-less.  Who wants to have a "laundry day"?  I don't know that many people want to devote a day or more than one day to doing laundry or any chore for that matter. Small steps:  when you finish breakfast, instead of moving on to the next task take the 2 minutes and wash those 3-7 dishes you might have, then you are done.  There are no dishes in the sink waiting no one more item on a to do list that is longer than you could ever accomplish let alone in one day!
